Infection Prevention Guidance on Masks and Re-Use

Disposable procedure masks have long been considered one-time use products, but they can be used multiple times safely. Attached is an excerpt from Vanderbilt University Medical Center and their recommendations for proper donning and doffing of earloop procedure masks. Proper handwashing is extremely important in the fight against Covid 19 and is very important when handling your face coverings. Please remember to not touch the outside of the mask as that is what catches the airborne particulates. Donning and doffing the mask should only be done by handling the ear loop portion of the mask. The mask can be re-used provided it is not soiled, torn, or saturated.
